At the beginning of the new year, I got a new calling at church. I am now the Primary Pianist! I was thrilled! The primary pianist is pretty much my dream calling. I love the chance to watch the kids during singing time, and I love that it's an excuse to spend more time on the piano. I used to feel guilty when I would spend time playing, but now I call it my 'lesson prep' time. I hope I can keep this calling for a long time!Jacob is now in an advanced placement program at school. His teacher has been so impressed with his work and abilities that back in November, they put him into a program for advanced students called Tiger Trek. There are only a couple kids chosen per grade and they've done some really fun things. Jacob's favorite so far has been the study of China which included learning to eat with chopsticks.
The new year is a good time for changes- I got my hair cut. Not too much, about 5 inches, but it's a fun change. I didn't take a picture, but all the future pictures will show. :)

It IS the dream calling, right?? Less preparation than primary chorister, but, like you said, a great excuse to practice piano. I LOVE that calling.
