Spring Choir Concerts

I'm not sure who was in charge of the planning for the elementary Spring choir concerts, but they ended up scheduling the 1st grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade concerts all on the same night. So we enjoyed three wonderful concerts in the same evening! We were at the middle school from 5:45 until about 7:45. The kids did great and had a fun time watching each other. Even Courtney did pretty well, watching most of the music from mommy or daddy's lap.
Each grade had a number of songs that they sang, as well as performing on some musical instruments. That's always a highlight. Jacob's grade had some pretty impressive percussion going on with different everyday objects.  Some classes were dressed as construction workers, or maintenance workers. Jacob's class was assigned to dress up in kitchen attire and performed a number using kitchen instruments. I was impressed! It was actually really fun to watch. He was happy to make good use of Jeff's "Dr. Stevens" apron as well. :)
After the concert, we headed out for ice cream at Culver's. I'd say it was a pretty successful night! It's so fun to watch kids perform, and so fun when they can watch and support each other as well.

Weekend Visitors

Houston, Becca & Kyree came up to visit for the weekend. It's been fun having them so close. We ate good food, played racquetball, saw a movie, played games, took advantage of some good weather (finally!) to BBQ and play outside, and just enjoyed some time together. Kyree is really growing up- it's fun to watch these cute little girls together. I'm glad they're close in age and can make some fun memories together.
