2010 in Review

2010 Year in Review


January

* Ring in the new year- 2010. Bowling as a family. Playing at Ymca

* Lots of swimming lessons, dr appointments, youth activities, card group, ward ‘Paper Bowl’ party and times with friends

* Jacob turns 6! Birthday party with friends. Combined party with Colin with all their friends from school. LOTS of boys! Crazy and fun.


February

* Interview trip/family vacation to Fargo, North Dakota. Awesome indoor water park. Fun family getaway even if we didn’t take the job.

* Philadelphia blizzards, lots of snow days, snowmen, sledding, forts, crafting, and fun.

* Baby Shower thrown by friends. Funny games, good times. Getting excited for a baby girl.

* Jeff’s special Valentine’s Dinner


March

* Birth of *Emily Ruth Stevens* March 19th. 7 lbs 1 oz and 19 inches. Sweet Baby Girl. Jeff barely makes it to the fast 2.5 hour delivery.

* Lacey and Mom visit. Lots of fun with grandma and aunt Lacey! Playing at the park, reading books, movie nights, date night, just having fun together.

* Jeff starts away rotation at VA Hospital at the beginning of the month.

* Spring break week with Jeff at VA. Lots of traveling for interviewing- couple months.

* Start packing…


April

* Crazy schedule of Jeff being gone all week- home on weekends, single mother with 4 kids, including newborn. Lots of driving to Wilkes-Barre on weekends.

* General Conference, Easter egg hunt with friends at park

* Mom Stevens, Scott, Amanda, Kimber, & Tyler visit for a few days. Have a blast in Philly! Tour downtown, enjoy Wissahickon Park, late nights and small spaces.

* Jeff takes OKAPS. Celebrates 33rd Birthday. Busy month.

* Lots of Craigslist, getting rid of furniture, and more packing…


May

* Goodbye picnic with Philly friends at park. Kids playing at park, adults enjoying conversations. * Fun and sad at the same time.

* Last Sunday in Philadelphia, Jacob’s last day of school at Shawmont, “move” up to Wilkes-Barre

* Hiking, playing at park, BBQ’s, enjoying friends in Wilkes-Barre

* Plans change, plan early move for me and kids back West, load up storage unit, SG apartment lease ends, lots of last minute errands and loose ends to tie up.


June

* Leave Pennsylvania at 7pm Thursday night, crazy non-stop cross country drive with 4 kids- Emily 2.5 months old, arrive in Salt Lake City at 8am Saturday morning. Kids do amazingly well.

* Visiting Grandma Forman, Grandma Hiller, Tom & Kristie, Grandma & Grandpa Tanner, Grandma & Grandpa Haworth and other family. Dropping Jeff off at airport in SLC to fly back to PA, and driving the rest of the 6 hour trip home by myself.

* Enjoying time home with family, enjoying a break from traveling! Fun Days Celebration, playing with cousins, etc.

* Birth of Lilah McConnon!

* Jeff finishes his residency and joins us after three weeks

* Drive to new city, sign lease on new apartment.


July

* Tanner Family Reunion, fun over the 4th of July. Swimming, ice blocking, date night, fun and games.

* Emily’s Blessing Day on the 4th of July. Shared with Lilah. Surrounded by wonderful family.

* Driving back and forth between home and family. Getting unpacked and settled in new apartment.

* Wedding of Greg and Amy in Boise Temple. Stevens/Forman family get-together for a few days. Tennis, games, Starlight Theater. Late night tennis with just the girls.

* Playing at home with family, enjoying time together. Big brush fire.


August

* Celebrate our 8th anniversary. Temple trip (Saturday) and date night together.

* Enjoying time with Colemans & Kezeles, lots of playing at the park, enjoying the complex swimming pool, walking to church, Sunday walks.

* Jeff getting busy with work. One car makes for lots of walking for mom & kids

* Ang celebrates 26th birthday- family is what makes it fun!

* Jacob starts 1st grade- lucky to get him into the right school.


September

* Caleb turns 5! Starts Preschool- lucky to get him in also!

* Labor Day trip home with Tanner family. Meet Houston’s fiancĂ© Becca. Ultimate Frisbee, football games, church, croquet, fun times.

* Find new house nearby. Start packing again.

* Emily turns 6 months old- already half a year old.

* Epic Stevens girls trip to Salt Lake City. Family History Library, Lagoon, Temple trip, hiking, tennis, Women’s Conference, Music & Spoken Word, church. Traveling together was half the fun.


October

* Conference Weekend- move into new rental house. Love finally having a yard! And more than 2 bedrooms.

* Wonderful being close to a temple.

* School field trips to pumpkin patches, helping at school parties, new wards, keeping busy with family and life.

* Matthew turns 3! Lacey comes to visit for a few days- enjoy time together, crazy shopping trips and volleyball games.

* Halloween. Ward parties, school parties, Trunk orTreat and Trick-or-Treating Saturday night.


November

* Picking apples together as a family at an apple orchard, spending time with family, craft fair, ward split.

* Keeping busy with day to day activities, school, preschool, work, etc.

* Houston & Becca’s wedding in Arizona. Mom & Dad watch the boys. Jeff, Ang and Emily fly to AZ. Beautiful wedding, fun to see family, quick trip. Jeff business trip right after.

* Thanksgiving with family. Football games, running, playing games, people ill, having fun together.


December

* Christmas cards, Christmas decorating, putting up the tree, enjoying all things Christmas!

* “Chocolate Night” girl’s night with friends at Holle’s house.

* Ward Christmas party, school parties, work/friends/neighbor gifts. Baking way too many sugar cookies.

* Houston & Becca’s wedding reception. Fun to see friends and family. Spending time together during the holidays, church, family movies, dodgeball, shopping trip, movie night, Christmas gift exchange.

* Christmas with Stevens. Family dinners and program, girls run, marshmallow shooters, church, racquetball, cousins nights together, date nights.

* Traveling back home and ringing in the new year with our little family.


It's definitely been a whirlwind of a year.

I feel like it flew by as quick as I could read through the list.
