And Baby #4 Is....

Today we finally had our ultrasound! Can you tell from the pictures what we’re having?

How about now?

Maybe this one…

That’s right, we’re having a

GIRL!

Break out the bows, ribbons, and flowers! I still can’t believe it! Over the past few weeks I really started to feel like we were going to have a girl, and I did tell Jeff that that was my guess; but I still felt a little shock over the news, in a good way of course! I would have been thrilled with another sweet little boy, but I am so excited to have a daughter. I think the boys are really excited to have a sister too, they all guessed that it would be a girl. I guess I’ll have to start referring to them as the ‘kids’ now rather than the ‘boys.’ J One thing is for sure, she’s going to have 3 very protective big brothers to look out for her!

She was so fun to watch. She’s such a sweet little baby and kept putting her hands up around her face. She seemed to enjoy putting her fingers in her mouth, looking around, and touching her little nose. It was fun to see her little profile and her nose and lips. According to dates, I’m 21 weeks & 3 days; really I know I’m closer to 20 weeks & 3 days, but she measured 19 weeks & 5 days.

I almost wasn’t able to have the ultrasound today. When I was getting registered, they told me that I was conscripted to go to another hospital and wouldn’t be able to have the ultrasound. I was so upset; luckily Jeff got there & called the insurance again, and finally got it worked out by changing my primary care physician. Of course at that point it was 2:20pm, so they told me they might not be able to get me in since my appointment time was 2pm, and Jeff had to go back to his office. Fortunately they got me in and did the ultrasound. The baby was being shy when it came to showing gender, so the tech did the whole ultrasound and then let me use the bathroom while she did a couple things. At that point, Jeff also got over there. He was a little bummed that he missed the ultrasound, but then the tech came back & tried to check gender again. This time the baby cooperated a little better and we found out together that we’re going to have a little girl! It was so fun.

The thought of having a daughter seems huge to me, I’m so excited and yet I feel a huge responsibility at the same time. I really hope I can be a good mother to my daughter (& sons too). I’m sure it will be an adventure. We’re so excited for our baby girl. Now if we can just come up with a name that we agree on! J

And the 21 week shot...

Tights, sandals, frilly bottom pantaloons, hair pretties, and sas. Oh, the sas. I don't know if the world is ready for this kind of beautiful!! I AM SO GLAD that you proved me wrong - both boys and girls are wonderful, you are right, but some day you will have a girl to sit with you at the Relief Society General Broadcast. That, in and of itself is a fun idea. Hooray for GIRL baby Stevens! I am crying just a little bit!

Congratulations! My secret wishes came true. I'm so glad you get to have a little girl. One thing that differs from a boy to a girl... accessories. Boys are such low maintenance. Girls get to have headbands and hair accessories, tights, bracelets, more shoes, and too many cute clothes to choose from. I'm excited for you! I haven't been in the blogging world as of late because we've had a lot of crazy things going on around here. Tonight I was talking to Grpa and Grma and they told me you were having a girl! I had to check it out for myself. I'm so happy for you! What a lucky girl to have 3 older brothers :).

Really, that's your shot? Girl you look skinnier than me, and I am postpardum. I could barely see your little bump, but nonetheless, you are the cutest pregger girl. We are sooo excited for you. Can't wait to see her and the name you pick. Give hugs to all and lots of love from AZ. Thanks for the tip by the way, I found it totally helpful.
